Pluto and Proserpina (Persephone) or the Rape of Prosperpina. The detail in this sculpture is amazing. In person you can see his fingers digging into her thigh and his face being smashed by the palm of her hand. Absolutely amazing.
Pluto and Proserpina is another exquisite sculpture found at the Borghese in Rome.

Virtuosismo tecnico nella resa della pelle dei tre personaggi. Riferimenti: San Gerolamo di Caravaggio per la figura di Anchise. Ma anche l'ultima comunione di San Gerolamo. Forse collaborò Pietro. Di Pietro e del Manierismo c'è lo sviluppo verticale a serpentina. Possono essere viste come tre età dell'uomo. Difficoltà a cogliere un unico punto di vista
